Filipino operator Globe Telecom continues its aggressive 5G rollout programme, with the news that by the end of last month its in-deployment network was now live in 1,069 areas across the country, up from 1,045 at end-2020. In a press update, Ayala-led Globe confirmed that its next-generation network has been switched on in 848 locations in Metro Manila and Rizal, as well as in 221 areas in Visayas and Mindanao. ‘We want our customers to unlock the many possibilities and potential that 5G technology brings. Getting the 5G service to more customers supports our vision of empowering Filipinos to create the quality of lives they want,’ said Globe president and CEO Ernest Cu. The operator confirmed that 5G is now also available in Negros Occidental, Cebu, Iloilo, Aklan, some areas in Misamis Oriental and Davao del Sur as well as in Laguna and Bulacan.
