United Arab Emirates (UAE) fixed and mobile operator Du has selected Ericsson to roll out its 5G radio access network (RAN) infrastructure as part of a major network expansion and modernisation programme. The vendor says the transformation will enable Du to address new business opportunities and diverse 5G use cases, including: Enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB), Fixed-Wireless Access (FWA), massive Internet of Things (IoT) and ultra-reliable low-latency (URLL) applications across enterprise and industry verticals, such as smart cities, manufacturing and health.
Ericsson has 127 commercial 5G agreements and contracts with communications service providers globally, of which 74 are publicly announced 5G deals, including 79 5G networks in 40 countries.
