Kellner’s PPF Group contemplating CETIN IPO

17 Feb 2021

Netherlands-registered PPF Group, a privately held international financial and investment group founded in 1991 in the Czech Republic and led by the billionaire Petr Kellner, is reportedly weighing up an initial public offering (IPO) for its telecommunications infrastructure group CETIN among other options. Yesterday (16 February), a spokeswoman for the group – in response to a Bloomberg item claiming that PPF had selected a number of banks to explore a possible listing – said: ‘We can confirm PPF is considering an IPO as one of the options for CETIN’. It is understood an IPO for the infrastructure arm could value it at around EUR4 billion (USD4.9 billion) and PPF is keen to stress that this does not mean it intends to exit the telecoms business.
