The European Commission (EC) has approved a EUR86 million (USD104 million) investment by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to expand broadband infrastructure in Croatia. The investment will provide citizens and businesses in rural and suburban settlements with access to high speed internet services. EC Cohesion and Reforms Commissioner Elisa Ferreira commented: ‘By contributing to end the digital divide between urban and rural populations, this project will open up new economic opportunities and boost Croatia’s socio-economic development.’
