11 Feb 2021

The ongoing trend for regional ISP mergers in Brazil shows no signs of slowing down, with four Minas Gerais-based operators the latest to unite. Blink Telecom, Prolink, Telecom Dados and Tremnet have agreed to merge under the Grupo Blink brand. Together, the companies offer coverage in 13 cities in the state, namely: Matozinhos, Pedro Leopoldo, Confins, Lagoa Santa, Sao Jose da Lapa, Vespasiano, Ribeirao das Neves, Contagem, Belo Horizonte, Betim, Igarape, Sao Joaquim de Bicas and Nova Lima. In total, the ISPs preside over fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure passing 310,000 premises. A company statement explained: ‘The merger allows us to boost our investments in innovation and customer relationships.’
