Comcast 2020 revenues drop 4.9% to USD103.6bn; cable sales up 3.4% to USD60.1bn

US cable giant Comcast Corporation has reported consolidated revenues of USD103.6 billion for the twelve months ended 31 December 2020, down 4.9% from USD108.9 billion in 2019. Adjusted EBITDA for the period under review decreased 10.0% to USD30.8 billion, while net income attributable to Comcast plummeted 19.3% on an annualised basis, to USD10.5 billion.

Of the top-line figure, Comcast’s ‘Cable Communications’ unit generated a total of USD60.1 billion in 2020, up 3.4% from USD58.1 billion one year earlier. The cable unit’s adjusted EBITDA increased 8.6% year-on-year, to USD25.3 billion. In operational terms, Comcast ended 2020 with 30.600 million broadband users, 19.846 million pay-TV subscribers, 11.002 million VoIP accounts and 2.826 million MVNO customers.

Elsewhere, Comcast’s UK subsidiary Sky ended 2020 with a total of 23.939 million ‘customer relationships’, following a net decrease of 56,000 in the twelve months under review.
