Telstra claims 5G network now covers 50% of Australians

Australian mobile network operator (MNO) Telstra has announced that its 5G network now covers 50% of the country’s population, with the company calling the development ‘a massive milestone’. Looking ahead, meanwhile, Telstra has said it now set itself what it called an ‘aggressive target’, with it reportedly aiming to increase population coverage to 75% ‘before the end of June 2021’. Alongside the updates regarding its 5G coverage levels, the MNO also confirmed that it now has more than 750,000 5G devices on its network, while claiming that it is adding ‘thousands more every week’.
