T-Mobile US and Nokia have announced a continuation of their longstanding network rollout partnership with the signing of a new five-year deal. The vendor will deploy its AirScale Radio platform to support the cellco’s ‘Ultra Capacity’ 5G rollout, which uses former Sprint spectrum in the 2.5GHz band. Under the terms of the new agreement, Nokia will also continue to expand T-Mobile’s 600MHz ‘Extended Range’ 5G coverage.

TeleGeography notes that T-Mobile’s Extended Range 5G network currently covers 280 million people across nearly 1.6 million square miles, while its Ultra Capacity 5G network covers 106 million people.
