In 2020 Ukrainian fixed broadband operator Ukrtelecom deployed 9.500km of new fibre-optic lines – a record figure for the company, which it noted was achieved despite the restrictions of compliance with COVID-19 quarantine measures. Ukrtelecom also reported that in the two-year period 2019-20 it connected around 600 small settlements across Ukraine to its high speed optical internet access network, helping to reduce the national digital divide. IP telephony, interactive TV and business-oriented services are also available in Ukrtelecom’s fibre zones, which the operator declared it will continue to expand in various regions of the country.
