Chinese vendor ZTE has completed the rollout of a 1,760km fibre backbone network in Mauritania. Deployed under a project funded by the World Bank, the new infrastructure includes urban loops and improved international links.

Elsewhere in Mauritania, the Maroc Telecom (MT) group has rebranded its local subsidiary Mauritel as Moov Mauritel. The Moov brand is already used by Etisalat-backed MT at several of its African operations.
