Nepal Telecom launches IPTV service

4 Jan 2021

State-owned telecoms provider Nepal Telecom (NT) launched its long-awaited IPTV service, dubbed ‘NT TV’, over its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network on 1 January 2021. Due to network constraints, the triple-play service is initially being offered to customers in selected areas of the Kathmandu Valley while the operator conducts tests ahead of a wider rollout. The basic NT TV package bundled with a 15Mbps fibre connection and fixed telephone line is priced at NPR1,230 (USD10.3) a month, while the premium package offers maximum download speeds ranging from 15Mbps (NPR1,400 a month) to 60Mbps (NPR2,450). Both packages feature 250 minutes of free calls on the NT network.
