Hutchison shareholders approve tower sale

At an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) held on 18 December CK Hutchison Holdings’ shareholders voted to approve the previously announced sale of the group’s European tower portfolio to Spanish infrastructure firm Cellnex Telecom. 99.89% of shareholders voted in favour of the deal.

The EUR10 billion (USD12.2 billion) deal was unveiled by CK Hutchison Networks Europe Investments and Cellnex Telecom on 12 November and includes 24,600 towers in Austria, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Sweden and the UK.
