T-2 starts 5G trials in Slovenia

15 Dec 2020

Slovenian fixed and mobile provider T-2 has launched a pilot 5G network at its headquarters in Ljubljana, testing equipment and services ahead of an auction of spectrum which is scheduled for early next year. The firm is initially trialling micro base stations using 3.6GHz frequencies, with plans to expand testing to include macro base stations. Rival operator Telekom Slovenije launched the country’s sole commercial 5G network in July and currently covers around 30% of the population.
