Azerfon (Nar), Azerbaijan’s third largest mobile network operator (MNO) by subscribers, has announced that its LTE user base increased by 35% in the first nine months of 2020. Compared to the same period of 2019, the number of 4G users grew by 27% in Baku and 51% in the regions.
According to the company, the expansion of its LTE/LTE-A network throughout the country, as well as the launch of affordable tariffs and data packages, led to a 21% increase in mobile data traffic in the same period, with growth of 9% in Baku and 42% in the regions. A 12% year-on-year rise in the number of subscribers with smartphones contributed to the increased data usage.
