WOM books 20% uptick in Q3 revenue

Chilean mobile provider WOM has reported total revenue of CLP157 billion (USD205 million) for the three months to end-September 2020, representing an increase of 20% year-on-year, whilst adjusted EBITDA for the period was up 19% y-o-y to CLP45 billion. WOM notes that it was able to continue work on its 4G network expansion, with the network reaching a total of 4,870 sites at the end of Q3 2020. The cellco went on to confirm that, with the easing of lockdown restrictions introduced to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, WOM was able to reopen 74% of its stores and kiosks in Q3, with that figure reaching 90% by 20 November. Commenting on the quarterly figures, WOM CEO Christopher Laska was quoted as saying: ‘These results are the reflection of a constant effort and sustained work during these years, and the loyalty of our clients, demonstrating a solid and healthy financial performance in all our operations.’
