Cyta accelerates FTTH rollout schedule

20 Nov 2020

Cypriot telco Cyta has brought forward its self-imposed fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) rollout deadline, from 2027 to 2023. An unnamed spokesperson told the Financial Mirror: ‘The plan is to cover 90% of the island with a fibre-optic network and look into other solutions for some rural areas where a fibre-optic network is not financially viable. We plan to reach over 200,000 houses and business and 150,000 subscribers by 2023, shortening a ten-year rollout plan into essentially three years.’
