Paris-based telecoms company Iliad Group has published its financial results for the three months ended 30 September 2020, reporting a 6.3% increase in its consolidated revenues to EUR1.420 billion (USD1.68 billion) from EUR1.336 billion in Q3 2019, with its operations in France generating EUR1.252 billion (up 1.9% year-on-year), while its Italian unit contributed revenue of EUR171 million in 3Q20. The company’s domestic unit generated mobile revenues of EUR537 million in the period under review (up 2.4% y-o-y), while its landline service revenues increased by 1.7% y-o-y to EUR673 million (3Q19: EUR661 million).
In operational terms, Iliad Group’s mobile customer base in its domestic market reached 13.476 million subscribers by 30 September 2020, up from 13.406 million in 2Q20. In Italy, Iliad reported a total of 6.840 million mobile users at end-September, up from 6.260 million quarter-on-quarter. The number of broadband subscribers in France, meanwhile, reached 6.671 million, with fibre users standing at 2.517 million (2.218 million in 2Q20).
Iliad also noted that it had increased its LTE-700 sites by 1,300 in the three months to 30 September 2020, with 96% of its 4G sites now operating in the band. The group had a total of 18,800 sites in metropolitan France (including 17,700 4G-enabled masts), giving it a 4G footprint of 97.8% (98.4% 3G). The number of connectable fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) nodes, meanwhile, reached 18.200 million (16.750 million at end-June 2020), with a target to cover 20 million by 2022.
