Telesur pushes ‘Big Data’ 4G/5G plans, triple-play packages

13 Nov 2020

Surinamese full-service telco Telesur has launched a new range of ‘Big Data’ high-volume mobile data packages aimed at high-end 4G LTE and 5G device owners, as well as business customers using 5G modems. Telesur switched on its 5G network in downtown Paramaribo nearly a year ago, in December 2019, but has kept its 5G marketing low-key until this month, whilst it also implemented high speed LTE-A upgrades in selected areas in late-2019.

For pre-paid mobile device users, Telesur is now offering 50GB internet/data, valid for 30 days, for SRD1,070 (USD75). Post-paid subscribers with smartphones or data-only (laptop or tablet) devices can choose a similar mobile internet service at a slightly cheaper price – 50GB per month for SRD980 – requiring a one-year contract. A B2B ‘5G Fixed Postpaid’ package costs SRD1,325 per month on a one-year contract (SRD1,435 without a contract) for 250GB and a 5G fixed modem (CPE) inclusive in the price.

Telesur has also recently launched – for the first time – triple-play fixed line telephony, fixed broadband internet and mobile (voice/data/SMS) discounted bundles. Available since late October, the ‘Wan Famiri Bundle’ is aimed at families or groups of users. A minimum of two and a maximum of five Telesur mobile pre-paid numbers can be included within the bundle.
