Romania-based Digi Communications has reported group revenues (excluding intersegment revenue and other income) of EUR327.6 million (USD386.4 million) for the three-month period ended 30 September 2020, an increase of 9.4% from EUR299.4 million in Q3 2019. The group’s adjusted EBITDA totalled EUR123.1 million in the reporting period, down 3.5% from EUR127.5 million twelve months previously, net profit declined almost 20% year-on-year to EUR17.5 million, while total operating expenses increased 13% to EUR279.3 million.
The group reported total RGUs increased 12% y-o-y to 17.659 million. Romania continues to be the group’s core market, contributing almost 62% of group revenues and 12.474 million RGUs in Q3 2020, followed by Hungary (2.493 million RGUs), Spain (2.439 million) and Italy (253,000). The Romanian operation recorded 3.172 million fixed internet RGUs (an increase of 17.4% y-o-y), 4.639 million pay TV customers (up 15.0%) and 1.064 million fixed line telephony RGUs (down 4.3%), while its mobile subscriber base grew by 6.0% to 3.599 million at the end of the quarter. ARPU declined by 4.0% y-o-y to EUR4.8 a month, which Digi attributed to the negative impact of foreign exchange rate variations.
