Swedish regulator to push on with 5G auction despite Huawei appeal

Sweden’s Post and Telecom Agency (Post & Telestyrelsen, PTS) says it plans to go ahead with its 5G spectrum auction as planned despite a last-minute appeal from Huawei Technologies Sweden. The Chinese vendor is unhappy with a government decision to ban its equipment from Swedish 5G networks, but the regulator says the appeal is a matter for the Administrative Court and will not derail its sale of 2.3GHz and 2.5GHz frequencies, which is due to begin tomorrow (10 November).
