Liberty commences AT&T integration, rebranding in PR, USVI

9 Nov 2020

Liberty Latin America (LLA) has wasted no time in refreshing the websites belonging to its recently acquired AT&T Communications businesses in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands (USVI). The companies, which were bought for a combined USD1.95 billion on 31 October, are in the process of being integrated with the group’s existing subsidiary Liberty Communications of Puerto Rico (Liberty PR). While a rebranding timeline has not been disclosed, based on the presentation of the new websites, the new units seem likely be called ‘Liberty Mobile PR’ and ‘Liberty Mobile VI’.

Setting out its future vision, the new owner writes: ‘Liberty will continue with the construction plan of 5G technology in Puerto Rico and in USVI that began in Puerto Rico in July 2020.’ In addition, ‘Liberty and AT&T have reached an agreement through which Liberty customers will be able to use their wireless devices on the network owned and operated by AT&T in the United States, just as they do today.’
