Bell Canada Q3 revenues, EBITDA down 2.6%, 4.4%

Bell Canada has reported total revenues of CAD5.787 billion (USD4.418 billion) in the third quarter of 2020, down 2.6% year-on-year, with adjusted EBITDA 4.4% lower y-o-y at CAD2.454 billion, although the full-service telco noted ‘sequential quarterly improvement at all Bell operating segments as COVID recovery continues’. Net income attributable to common shareholders for 3Q20 fell 20.2% y-o-y to CAD692 million.

Bell reported 128,168 total mobile net customer additions in July-September 2020, alongside 81,696 net retail fixed broadband and IPTV customer additions as it posted 10% internet revenue growth in the quarter. The operator stated that its fibre network build-out programme is now 56% complete, whilst the rural Bell Wireless Home Internet rollout is approaching half of its planned footprint across seven Canadian provinces. Bell’s 5G mobile network – which it currently claims offers the country’s fastest mobile data speeds – also continues its expansion to additional cities.
