Turkish quadruple-play operator Turk Telekom’s consolidated revenues increased to TRY7.4 billion (USD875 million) in Q3 2020, up by 18.6% year-on-year. EBITDA grew 15.7% to TRY3.5 billion with an EBITDA margin of 47.2%, and operating profit (EBIT) rose 17.1% to TRY2.1 billion. Net income fell to TRY432 million in 3Q20 compared to TRY1.1 billion a year earlier due to unfavourable FX movements during the quarter.
Turk Telekom’s total wholesale and retail fixed broadband subscriber base increased to 12.8 million at end-September 2020 with 534,000 net additions in Q3. Combined fibre-to-the-cabinet (FTTC) and fibre-to-the-building/home (FTTB/H) connections exceeded 5.2 million following 432,000 net additions – the highest ever quarterly performance in this segment. The number of FTTC subscribers reached 3.2 million, while FTTB/H subscribers increased to 2.0 million. The operator added 269,000 net additional mobile subscribers in Q3 to take its total to 23.1 million, and the post-paid base reached 63% of the total with 362,000 quarterly net post-paid additions.
