T-Mobile US doubles 2.5GHz 5G footprint

29 Oct 2020

T-Mobile US has announced that it has nearly doubled the number of towns and cities with access to 2.5GHz 5G connectivity, taking the total locations served to 410. New cities covered include: Indianapolis City, Indiana; Wichita, Kansas; St. Louis, Missouri; Hoboken, New Jersey; Cincinnati, Ohio; and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. T-Mobile says its engineers are lighting up 1,000 sites per month and it is on track to cover 100 million people by the end of 2020. The 2.5GHz network – which uses spectrum inherited through T-Mobile’s takeover of Sprint – went live in Philadelphia in April this year.
