Bulgaria and the US have inked a security declaration for mobile 5G networks, designed to ensure secure and clean communications, Reuters writes. Via the agreement, Bulgaria has joined the US Department of State’s Clean Network initiative, which seeks to address ‘long-term threats to privacy, security and human rights to the free world from authoritarian … actors.’ TeleGeography notes that the US government launched the Clean Network programme in August 2020, in order to ‘protect America’s critical telecommunications and technology infrastructure’.
