Telekom begins marketing FTTH for 600,000 homes in 60 areas

Telekom Deutschland (TD), the domestic operating unit of Deutsche Telekom (DT), has begun marketing fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) connections for around 600,000 households in 60 municipalities. From next year, customers will be able to access broadband services at maximum downstream speeds of 1Gbps. Telekom is set to begin expansion of its FTTH network to additional areas, including Bad Salzungen, Bergen auf Rugen, Berlin (Karlshorst, Hansaviertel, Siemensstadt and Weissensee), Bonn-Nordstadt, Bornheim, Braunschweig-Ost, Bruhl, Hamburg (Eppendorf and Winterhude), Ilmenau, Laatzen, Mannheim-Schwetzingerstadt, Taufkirchen, Trier, Unterhaching and Wesseling.
