A1 Telekom Austria Group has reported total revenues of EUR1.14 billion (USD1.34 billion) for the third quarter of 2020, a decrease of 0.9% from EUR1.15 billion in the year-ago period, mainly due to roaming losses and negative foreign exchange effects, partly outweighed by a 7.2% rise in equipment revenues. Group EBITDA grew by 0.6% from EUR439.0 million in Q3 2019 to EUR441.6 million twelve months later, as roaming and foreign exchange losses were offset by operational efficiency, especially related to the workforce, maintenance and advertising. Excluding one-off and currency exchange effects, as well as restructuring charges, group EBITDA increased by 4.3% year-on-year. A1 Telekom Austria Group reported a 4.6% increase in net profit from EUR136.3 million to EUR142.6 million over the same period.
At 30 September 2020 A1 Telekom Austria Group reported a total of 21.61 million wireless subscribers, an increase of 0.5% year-on-year, mainly led by growth in Croatia (1.6%), while mobile customer numbers declined in Bulgaria (down 4.0%), North Macedonia (-4.7%) and Austria (-3.6%). Total wireline RGUs fell by 1.2% y-o-y from 6.14 million to 6.07 million at end-September 2020, as growth in high speed broadband and TV RGUs could not compensate for the decline of low speed broadband and fixed voice RGUs in Austria.
