NOW Corp, whose communications arm NOW Telecom is looking to position itself as the Philippines’ fourth major telco, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Viettel Business Solutions, a subsidiary of Vietnam’s largest telco Viettel Group, to provide ICT products and services in the country. NOW Corp confirmed the signing of the MoU in a stock exchange filing dated 2 October 2020 which will see the Vietnamese operator providing ICT solutions to ‘NOW’s existing and future customers across multiple industry segments’. It is understood that ‘participating in potential ICT biddings and exploiting the market of digital transformation consulting services, artificial intelligence, data analytics and cybersecurity in the country’ form part of the agreement which comes at a time when NOW Telecom is setting the stage for its public listing as well as its 5G network rollout.
