5 Oct 2020

Hrvatski Telekom (HT) has been awarded 13 new contracts to deploy next-generation broadband networks in underserved rural areas of Croatia. The infrastructure projects are worth a combined total of HRK820.5 million (USD127 million), which will include HRK323.2 million in grants. HT has already been awarded eight previous contracts, with all 21 tenders having a total value of HRK1.4 billion, of which HRK687 million will be paid in subsidies provided by the European Structural and Investment Funds. The rollouts will cover almost 150,000 premises in so-called ‘white’ areas where fixed broadband access is currently restricted or unavailable, with launches scheduled for end-2023 at the latest.
