Hong Kong telco HKT says it will become the first of the territory’s operators to roll out 5G coverage on major MTR subway lines by the middle of next month. The operator says 5G will be available on central sections of the Island, Tsuen Wan, Kwun Tong, Tseung Kwan O, East Rail and Tuen Ma lines.

Separately, HKT’s parent company PCCW has completed the transfer of the NOW TV pay-TV business from PCCW Media to HKT Interactive Media, a wholly owned subsidiary of HKT. The transaction was valued at HKD1.95 billion (USD250 million).
