Polsat considers Polkomtel network sale

25 Sep 2020

The Polish telco and pay-TV group Cyfrowy Polsat is considering the sale of the mobile infrastructure owned by cellco subsidiary Polkomtel, which trades under the Plus brand. The group says that options under review include: the sale of 100% of the shares of Polkomtel Infrastruktura, which owns the passive and active network equipment; the sale of selected elements of the network; or a joint venture or strategic partnership.

TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that Plus is the smallest of Poland’s four mobile network operators (MNOs) in terms of subscribers, with 10.55 million users and 22% of the overall market at the end of June 2020.
