Greece’s National Telecommunications & Post Commission (Ethniki Epitropi Tilepikoinonion kai Tachydromeion, EETT) is preparing to announce an auction of 5G wireless spectrum, with a sale expected to be held before the end of the year. The sale will include frequencies in the 700MHz, 2GHz, 3.4GHz-3.8GHz and 26GHz bands. EETT Chairman Konstantinos Maselos says: ‘We have completed two rounds of consultations for the auction of the 5G network range and we are ready to proceed with the announcement of the auction. We will start within the schedule that we had committed, within 2020, for the auction of the spectrum.’ Respondents to the watchdog’s recent public consultation on the spectrum awards process included Cosmote, Digea, Forthnet, Vodafone and Wind Hellas.
