As part of its ongoing network rollout programme, XL Axiata has announced it is expanding its XL HOME services to the city of Medan, the capital of North Sumatra province, augmenting recent expansions earlier this year in East Java, specifically in Surabaya, Gresik, Sidoarjo and Malang. The drive does not end there, however, with Director of Corporate Strategy and Business Development Abhijit Navalekar noting that ‘there are several more cities that we are targeting as locations for further expansion. So far, we have prioritised building the quality of XL Home services and simultaneously preparing network infrastructure in potential areas’. To date, XL Axiata has built out a fibre-optic network passing around 470,000 homes. Apart from Medan, its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure is also available in cities such as Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi, Makassar, Balikpapan, Banjarmasin, Denpasar, Yogyakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Gresik, Sidoarjo and Malang.
