Light Source contracted for KCOM’s expanded fibre rollout

9 Sep 2020

Telecommunications infrastructure provider Light Source has secured the contract to deliver the expansion of KCOM’s full fibre network to premises in East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. The deal follows Hull-based KCOM’s announcement earlier this year that it would invest approximately GBP100 million (USD131 million) to expand its full fibre infrastructure beyond its traditional boundaries to tens of thousands more homes and businesses. Light Source played a major role in the completion of KCOM’s fibre network rollout to 200,000 properties across Hull and East Yorkshire last year, and the vendor says the new contract ‘further highlights the continued close partnership with KCOM, and the region, with the creation of many job opportunities’.
