In a statement on its website, Beeline refers to WestCall as ‘one of the leading independent operators in Moscow, which provides a wide range of fixed line services,’ adding that the takeover ‘will strengthen VimpelCom’s positions in the highly competitive capital market for broadband internet access services’, fitting with the group’s goals ‘to expand the portfolio of services for small and large enterprises, both in the segment of traditional services and in terms of new digital solutions.’ The press release continued: ‘As a next step, VimpelCom plans to join forces with WestCall to further develop the company’s projects and maximise synergy from the interaction of the two operators. At the same time, WestCall will continue to work with all partners and clients as before.’
