T-Mobile US has confirmed that it has extended 2.5GHz 5G connectivity to 81 new markets across the US. In April, following its merger with Sprint, T-Mobile lit up mid-band 5G networks in Philadelphia and New York City, with Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles and Washington, DC following in due course. New locations covered include the likes of San Fernando, California; Gainesville, Georgia; and Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The cellco notes that its engineering teams are on track to light up 1,000 cell sites per month with 2.5GHz 5G; by year-end mid-band 5G will be available in thousands of cities and towns across the country.
