Paris-based telecoms company Iliad Group has published its financial results for the six months ended 30 June 2020, reporting a 6.8% increase in its consolidated revenues to EUR2.784 billion (USD3.303 billion) from EUR2.607 billion in H1 2019, with its operations in France generating EUR2.475 billion (up 1.8% year-on-year), while its Italian unit contributed revenue of EUR312 million by mid-2020. The company’s domestic unit generated mobile revenues of EUR1.041 billion in the period under review (up 4.4% y-o-y), while its landline service revenues increased by 1.8% y-o-y to EUR1.336 billion (1H19: EUR1.312 billion).
In operational terms, Iliad Group’s mobile customer base in its domestic market reached 13.406 million subscribers by 30 June 2020, up from 13.326 million in 1Q20. In Italy, Iliad reported a total of 6.260 million mobile users at end-June, up from 5.806 million quarter-on-quarter. The number of broadband subscribers in France, meanwhile, reached 6.572 million, with fibre users standing at 2.218 million (1.975 million in 1Q20). Iliad also noted that it had increased its LTE-700 sites by 3,600 in the six months to 30 June 2020, with 94% of its sites now operating in the band. The group had a total of 18,200 sites in metropolitan France (including 16,700 4G-enabled masts), giving it a 4G footprint of 97.3% (98.2% 3G). The number of connectable fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) nodes, meanwhile, reached 16.750 million (15.400 million at end-March 2020), with a target to cover 20 million by 2022.
