Uzmobile reaches six million subscribers

State-backed Uzbek fixed and mobile operator Uzbektelecom (Uztelecom) has confirmed that its mobile division Uzmobile has passed the milestone of six million subscribers. TeleGeography notes that the state-backed provider has achieved steady growth recently as it expands its 2G/3G/4G networks in regions across the country, reaching five million subscribers at end-2019 and around 5.5 million by end-March 2020. The company also confirmed that its mobile coverage now reaches 90% of the population.
