25 Aug 2020

Cableco Serbia Broadband (SBB) has launched its ‘GIGA’-branded fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) services in a sixth city, Kragujevac, offering users within the coverage area access to download speeds of up to 1Gbps as well as an improved pay-TV service. As part of the launch, SBB automatically upgraded the access speeds of its existing customers, with subscribers to its ‘EON Light’ plan now receiving data transfer rates of up to 150Mbps – compared to 75Mbps previously – whilst its ‘EON Full’ and ‘EON Premium’ subscribers had their connections boosted to 250Mbps and 500Mbps from 150Mbps and 300Mbps, respectively. The operator is planning to upgrade its infrastructure in all of the cities in which it operates, and has mapped out a EUR300 million (USD354.2 million) five-year plan to achieve that goal.
