Claro Costa Rica launches FTTH service

Claro Costa Rica has confirmed that it has launched fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) technology in selected locations. According to La Nacion, fibre networks have gone live in Curridabat, San Francisco de Dos Rios, La Union, Pavas, Sanchez, Mata Redonda and San Antonio de Belen. The network supports maximum down/upload speeds of 500Mbps/50Mbps. Company spokesperson Carolina Sanchez told the news site: ‘Despite the global economic situation, Claro Costa Rica has invested, and will continue to invest, tens of millions of dollars this year, which supports the growth in traffic and demand for services.’
