Orange Poland has begun the formal search for an investor to help it develop its fibre networks business. The telco is creating a unit dubbed FiberCo and is looking to sell a stake to a new financial partner. According to a report from Telko.in, Orange is hoping to raise funds to enable FiberCo to build out fibre networks to a further 1.7 million households across Poland, concentrating on underserved areas. The networks will be open access, available to Orange and other service providers on an equal basis. Orange had 4.4 million Polish households covered by its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure at the end of March 2020, TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes.
