AT&T 2Q20 results hit by COVID-19

US telecoms giant AT&T has reported operating revenues of USD40.950 billion for the three months ended 30 June 2020, down from USD44.957 billion in 2Q19, with the telco noting that the COVID-19 pandemic impacted revenues across all segments. Operating income for the second quarter decreased from USD7.500 billion to USD3.532 billion, while net income attributable to AT&T plummeted from USD3.713 billion to USD1.281 billion.

John Stankey, AT&T CEO, commented: ‘Our resilient cash from operations continues to support investments in growth areas, dividend payments and debt retirement. We are aggressively working opportunities to sharpen our focus, transform our operations and continue investing in growth areas, with the customer at the centre of everything we do.’
