Telekom Deutschland (TD) is upgrading around 15,000 additional antennas with 5G technology this week. The upgrades are being carried out in cities including Nuremberg and Hanover, as well as in rural areas such as Schwanebeck, Westerland and Bottrop. The new antennas will transmit 5G in the 2100MHz band, although TD is also using the 3.6GHz band to roll out the technology across the country. The firm is aiming to cover half of the German population with its 5G network by the end of this month.
