Orange Poland mulling sale of stake in fibre business

17 Jul 2020

France’s Orange Group is considering selling up to 50% of its fibre network business in Poland. A report from Bloomberg cites ‘people familiar with the matter’ who say the stake in the networks operation could fetch up to EUR1 billion (USD1.1 billion). A spokesperson at Orange Poland confirmed that it was seeking a partner to support further investment in its fibre networks, and it is thought that the telco has appointed Lazard as its advisor to the sale. Orange had 4.4 million Polish households covered by its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure at the end of March 2020.
