Magenta reaches new areas in Tyrol through partner model

9 Jul 2020

Full-service provider Magenta Telekom, which was formed last year from the merger of wireless operator T-Mobile Austria and cableco UPC Austria, has revealed it now reaches over 50 communities in the region of Tyrol through its partner model. Under the scheme, Magenta cooperates with local cablecos and municipalities which own their own infrastructure to provide services outside of its cable footprint. The partner model was started in Tyrol by UPC in 2017 and in the first half of this year it was expanded to include a further ten municipalities, namely Heinfels, Langenfeld, Motz, Oetz, Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser, Schonberg im Stubaital, Silz Stams, Strassen, Umhausen and Vomp.

Between 2018 and 2021 Magenta plans to invest around EUR1 billion (USD1.2 billion) in its fixed and mobile infrastructure across the entire country.
