Swiss full-service provider Salt has signed up 100,000 users to its triple-play fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) service, the telco has confirmed. Salt’s fibre offerings are now available in 203 municipalities – including major cities such as Zurich, Geneva, Lausanne, Basel, Bern, Luzern, St. Gallen, Fribourg and Lugano – and the company plans to add 1.5 million homes passed via Swiss Open Fiber, its FTTH-oriented strategic partnership with fellow full-service provider Sunrise Communications. The operator also notes that it has ‘good partnerships with the cantons and municipalities to sustain the optimal development of Salt Home’. Salt’s triple-play plan provides download speeds of up to 10Gbps as well as a TV package with over 250 channels, an Apple TV 4K set-top box, and a fixed line telephony plan for CHF39.95 (USD42.11) per month. Salt’s offering is aggressively priced, and the company compares the package to similar products from Sunrise (‘Internet giga + TV neo max’), UPC (‘Happy Home Giga’) and Swisscom (‘inOne home L, M, M’), each of which is priced at over CHF100 per month.
