Poland’s Play may sell tower assets next year

29 Jun 2020

Polish cellco Play is considering the sale of its mobile tower network, which comprises around 8,000 sites in a deal which could be valued at up to EUR800 million (USD900 million). Bloomberg cites ‘people with knowledge of the matter’ as saying that the formal sale process could begin early next year, though Play declined to comment. Play (registered as P4) is the second largest of Poland’s four main mobile operators, in terms of active subscribers, with 26% of the overall market at the end of March 2020, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database.
