Telekom Slovenije trials 10Gbps connections

10 Jun 2020

Telekom Slovenije says it is trialling technology which will enable it to offer download speeds of up to 10Gbps for residential users on its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network. The firm, which says it has fibre infrastructure passing 345,000 households, has completed lab testing and is now planning pre-commercial trials with a few dozen users in Ljubljana, Celje and Grosuplje, before a wider rollout. Telekom Slovenije had just over 200,000 fixed broadband subscribers at the end of March 2020, giving it roughly 32% of the overall market, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database.
