Greek telco Cosmote, which is part of OTE Group, says its fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks now pass some 180,000 premises across the country, with 30,000 lines added so far this year. New areas covered include parts of the Attica region around Athens and localities of the city of Thessaloniki.
The Chief Technology and Operations Officer of OTE Group, Stefanos Theocharopoulos, commented: ‘In the midst of a pandemic, we all understand, more than ever, the value of the fast internet for our communication, entertainment, education and work. That is why, despite the difficulties, we remain steadfast in our investment plan. Already 180,000 households and businesses have access to guaranteed high speeds. We are dynamically continuing the expansion of the FTTH network, so that it reaches more and more subscribers throughout the country.’
