Telekom completes IP migration of data connections

21 May 2020

Deutsche Telekom (DT), which provides fixed and mobile services in Germany through its Telekom Deutschland subsidiary, has completed the migration of over 1.5 million DSL data connections to IP. The transfer of the wholesale connections was carried out it in close cooperation with the market’s telecoms operators to minimise switchover times and disruption for customers. The ongoing migration of pure voice telephone and ISDN multi-device connections without DSL data to IP technology will be completed this year. Earlier this year DT announced that all 25 million residential internet-based connections had been converted to IP.
